Mr. Devaraj is the Executive Director of Bombay Teen Challenge (BTC) in Mumbai, India, an organization he founded in 1990 to meet the material, emotional and spiritual needs of Mumbai's poorest citizens, especially the young people who were caught up in drugs, gangs and prostitution.

Today, BTC is one of the largest nongovernmental organizations working among Mumbai's street children in the fields of health and education. Among BTC's operations are feeding and medical programs, shelters for street children, a home for children orphaned by AIDS, rescue programs for women and girls trapped in prostitution and rehabilitation for boys addicted to drugs.
